I was trying to be proactive with protecting my mortgage and credit score. I reached out to the mortgage company to see what available options they could assist me with after being terminated from my position related to XXXX XXXX XXXX 's illegal actions to fire probationary government employees. There has been very little communication on the status of my job under XXXX since this occurred in XXXX based on the XXXX XXXX in the XXXX emails. I only opted for the forbearance because I wanted to be safe than sorry so I applied to protect my home and family. I have never been late on any payment with them since purchasing the home back in XX/XX/XXXX. Those of us that are government employees are struggling and under this type of scrutiny are already having a very difficult time finding work, and only getting updates from the news has been the worst. There has been very little communication from our agencies on next steps. The mortgage company chose not to take this into consideration and tanked my credit score XXXX points today XX/XX/XXXX, even though I have NEVER missed a payment. I would like my credit score returned to what it was immediately, this is absolutely devastating considering I only needed to apply for this forbears because of the illegal firings implemented by the XXXX XXXX. This is in violation of the CARES ACT as well. Refer to Section XXXX of the CARES Act, which amends the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). This section is codified at 15 U.S. Code 1681s2.
