My mother died in XXXX. I immediately contacted the mortgage company. I submitted the death certificate, will and my birth certificate, but they said I had no interest in the property and wouldn't speak to me. A woman from a title company reached out to Mr. Cooper on my behalf. She worked out a deal and asked me to choose an option : pay the interest and the pay off amount stays frozen for 6, 9 or 12 months or pay nothing and the interest is added to the pay off amount for 6, 9, or 12 months. I chose to pay nothing and add the interest for 9 months. This was late XXXX, early XX/XX/XXXX. I had managed to pay my mom 's mortgage in XXXX and XXXX. I texted the title company on XX/XX/XXXX. The response was that she believed they had all needed documentation and we would get final approval soon. When I spoke to the title company on XX/XX/XXXX, they stated that approval was coming and that the Mr. Cooper agent had said to tell me not to pay the XXXX mortgage since approval was imminent. I touched base with the title company again on XX/XX/XXXX and was told that they believed the hardship had been approved and she would confirm. I then received a letter on XX/XX/XXXX threatening foreclosure. I called Mr. Cooper. The agent I spoke to claimed that there was no record of an agreement and no record of any calls with the title company. After I agued with them for a while, the agent finally said that she did see a call from the title company but still claimed that there was no agreement. She told me that I should do nothing because it would be at least 6 months before they would ever start the foreclosure process. I called the title company the next day, XX/XX/XXXX, and she told me that she was told by Mr. Cooper that is was approved and the mortgage was on hold. On XX/XX/XXXX, she said she was working to resolve the issue. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter stating that the home was in foreclosure and had been sent to foreclosure on XX/XX/XXXX. We had only missed 4 payments at that point. I was told that we could come up with a payment plan, but it would be reported on my credit as the executor. I demanded to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor told me that it would not go on my credit. She then said she could work up a hardship waiver. We went through the entire application process and then said she couldn't complete it because I didn't leave in the house. Mr. Cooper has lied and rushed this to foreclosure. How can anyone do this when it is an estate? I was only able to upload my text exchange with the title company. Mr. Cooper refused to put anything in writing to me. The title company may have something. When I called today, they refused to put anything in writing. No company should be allowed to operate this way.
