In the later part of XXXX I took my XXXX XXXX XXXX to XXXX to have get a routine oil change as I do every XXXX months. In XXXX of XXXX, I noticed the oil light was on and I immediately returned to XXXX as this was unusual. A kind gentleman named XXXX who works at XXXX checked my car out and provided me with the following information. He advised, " The vehicle is burning oil rapidly due to the engine failing. '' He informed me this is a known issue with XXXX XXXX and could possibly be covered under warranty. In late XX/XX/XXXX XXXX I contacted the lender, Avid Acceptance and informed them that the engine is failing. I currently owe a balance of {$11000.00} on the vehicle I've had it since XXXX. I also contacted XXXX to determine if a warranty existed. I was informed by XXXX that the warranty is only valid if I am the original owner which I am not. Avid Acceptance advised I would continue to be responsible for the balance of the loan in addition to the engine repair/replacement. I have obtained estimates of repair/replacement which is in excess of {$9000.00}. This vehicle has been vandalized XXXX in attempted thefts to which I have an active claim awaiting the settlement of XXXXXXXX XXXX class action law suit. As a hardworking citizen I am seeking what my legal options are at this point. I believe the loan may be predatory lending. I don't have to explain that this puts me at an extreme financial hardship as I am not a rich woman.
