Around XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I received a notification that someone had checked my equifax account pulling a hard inquiry for a XXXX XXXX credit card. I did not authorize nor initiate the inquiry or apply for a XXXX XXXX credit card. I called XXXX XXXX at exactly XXXXXXXX XXXX that day to report someone using my information to apply for the card that got approved and that account is currently under investigation. I requested a dispute with Equifax to have them remove the hard inquiry since my information was used fraudulently. Equifax however stated the hard inquiry would remain on my credit for 2 years which I do not agree with.
