Consumer Narrative
I have filed a compliant and the credit companies failed to do a proper investigation instead just sent a generic response while keeping the issue on my credit. I have included their response and also the laws on how this is illegal and how they have already been sued for this same issues. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) Subject : Complaint Against Experian for Failure to Properly Investigate Credit Report Errors Date : XX/XX/XXXX I am filing a complaint against Experian regarding their failure to properly investigate and resolve errors on my credit report, despite multiple disputes and clear violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Background : I have been actively working to repair my credit and have sent multiple dispute letters to Experian regarding the inaccuracies on my credit report. Despite myefforts, Experian has not complied with the requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, specifically : 15 USC 1681e ( b ) Duty to maintain reasonable procedures to ensure maximum accuracy of the information in my credit report. 15 USC 1681s- 2 Requirements for data furnishers to provide accurate information and correct any inaccuracies. 15 USC 1681i ( 5 ) Failure to complete the required reinvestigation of my disputes in a timely manner. 15 USC 1681c ( c ) Failure to remove or correct information that should have been deleted under the law. Details of the Disputed Accounts : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. Despite submitting disputes and providing supporting documentation to prove the inaccuracies, Experian has failed to conduct a reasonable and thorough investigation into these accounts. I have reviewed the recent CFPB lawsuit ( CFPB Sues Experian for Sham Investigations of Credit Report Errors ), and the pattern of Experians failure to properly investigate disputes and remove inaccurate information further supports my case. Experians actions ( or lack thereof ) have directly harmed my ability to access credit, housing, and employment. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely,
