I called Capital One on XX/XX/XXXX to cancel my card. They charged me an annual fee on XX/XX/XXXX, but I don't want to use the card anymore. I actually stopped using it for a long time. I closed the account on XX/XX/XXXX. They hit me with a late fee and interest too. I paid everything I owed, minus the annual fee and their late fees. The agent said he will credit it in 5 days. I checked again, and I was hit with an even larger late fee. I called again, they told me it's been more than 39 days so they won't credit me for the annual fee or the late fee. Basically, too bad- we are charging you more fees so deal with it. No resolution was provided. The agent " escalated '' it to their improvement team but I was left with over a XXXX dollars worth of fees, bills and interest - none of it having to do with anything I bought or used the card for. I now paid everything off, a complete scam and a big waste of money. I want a full refund.
