Consumer Narrative
We had a XXXX called " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX '' registered several years ago as a XXXX in State of Georgia and opened a business checking account with Ameris Bank ( at that time they called it XXXX XXXX ). We did not renew the registration of this XXXX but had {$100.00} on this account and my wife used it for XXXX trading. At the end of 2024 we got a bill from Ameris Bank claiming that we had overdraft and have to pay {$390.00} because of some strange unauthorized transaction pulling/depositing money to this checking account. We went to a Bank branch in XXXX GA and they promised to resolve it and call us by XX/XX/XXXX. We got no calls so far but yesterday got another bill demanding to pay {$390.00} for overdraft. Why should we be responsible for unauthorized transactions made from paypal on Internet on this stolen account? Ameris Bank is refusing to recognize those transactions as non-legitimate and claims that we own them {$390.00}. We asked to block any transactions to this account in XX/XX/year>. How come the Consumer can be responsible for Bank 's inability to stop unauthorized transaction?
