Consumer Narrative
I have had a XXXX with SSFCU for many years with the balance for the past year at around {$100.00} and the payments being interest only and around a {$1.00} per month. A couple of months ago the payment processing system would not let me make any payment online or turn on auto bill pay and I would receive an error notice ( image attached ) directing me to a phone number that when called told me to call back later. I had only left the loan open as a line of credit but decided to close it. I began receiving messages that I was in default of the loan and a message from the credit agencies. I immediately wired the entire balance in full on XX/XX/year> and disputed the default to the credit agencies. I received a denial of the dispute with no details. This appears to be done to intentionally drive down individuals credit scores resulting in higher returns for the banks at the expense of the consumer. Defaulting a loan for {$1.00} on while not accepting payments is unacceptable and unfortunately will not be doing business with SSFCU again
