It all started on XX/XX/XXXX. I received a text message about a toll payment, which I thought was legitimate. The message stated that I needed to pay only {$6.00}, so I entered my credit card information. Since it sometimes takes a few days for transactions to process, I didnt think much of it at first. However, a couple of days later, I noticed unauthorized charges appearing on my account. Instead of the {$6.00} toll fee I expected, I was shocked to see transactions totaling {$980.00} and {$1300.00}, adding up to $ XXXX was all the money I had, including funds from my college. Thats when I realized I had fallen for a scam and that the toll message was fake. I provided a message that sent to me that made me nervous thinking i owe toll fees to dmv.
