Consumer Narrative
Dear CFPB Equifax New FCRA violation associated with Medical Creditor name was changed to Unknown Name All FCRA violations are being reported on separate complaints because Equifax is failing to confidently read the complaints. Equifax is knowingly and intentionally changing the creditors name right before they are supposed to do an investigation so that they can later claim they failed to do the investigation because they couldnt find the account. As mentioned in a previous complaint, Equifax changed the name of the Medical Loan account of XXXX XXXX to XXXX. They then claimed that their failure to investigate was due to the name change that they created. Similarly the XXXX XXXX XXXX account was changed to XXXX XXXX XXXX by Equifax disputes department as was determined by a Equifax agent. Today the Medical Loan XXXX XXXX XXXX account was changed to XXXX XXXX. This creates massive confusion in the disputes process, and none of these name changes were authorized Equifax didnt not notify me of the changes required by 15 USC 1681 The name changes of the creditors were deceitful and create inaccuracies violating 15 USC 1681 ) ( 1 ) Their behavior undermines the public trust a ) Accuracy and fairness of credit reporting The Congress makes the following findings : ( 1 ) The banking system is dependent upon fair and accurate credit reporting. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system. Because of the failure to notify me of the change and the deceitful way that Equifax continues to change creditors name to a fake name, I am demanding that the medical debt that should have already been removed from the account be removed immediately. It is currently under the name o f XXXX but was previously under the name of XXXX It should also be known that no more investigations are disputes are to be done on my account without my permission and without personally calling me on my home phone XXXX. The investigations were requested on XX/XX/XXXX and in XX/XX/XXXX however, the time for disputing and investigating has passed and the four charge ups on my account should have been deleted.
