Spoke with representative and confirmed account is paid and closed. When ask for proof, was told I would get it mailed and that this will be reported to the Bureau and updated on my credit report. When asked about the late payments being removed, again I am told this will accrue once the Bureau is notified of settled account. Most accounts have been paid and closed for at least 6 months. I also have 6 duplicate accounts open dept of Education with the same account number and information all also stating closed. I have one account open with the correct balance and information. These account remaining on my credit are hindering my ability to open and gain more credit. This is costing my family hardship as I am limited to receiving approval any additional credit as it currently shows I have 27 accounts on my credit when 18 accounts should have been removed.
