I recently reviewed my TransUnion credit report and discovered several unauthorized hard inquiries that I did not approve. The following companies conducted inquiries without my consent : SYNCB/LOWES Inquiry Date : XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX Inquiry Date : XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX Inquiry Dates : XX/XX/XXXX & XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX Inquiry Date : XX/XX/XXXX Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) [ 15 U.S.C. 1681b ], a company must have permissible purpose and my explicit authorization before conducting a hard inquiry on my credit report. I have not applied for credit with these companies, nor did I authorize these inquiries. I have attempted to dispute these inquiries with TransUnion and/or the respective creditors but have not received a satisfactory resolution. The FCRA requires that unauthorized inquiries be removed from my report to prevent further harm to my credit. I request that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) investigate this matter and require the removal of these unauthorized inquiries. Additionally, I request documentation proving that I authorized these inquiries. If the companies can not provide verifiable proof, these inquiries should be removed immediately. Failure to correct this issue may result in further action, including legal recourse.
