Consumer Narrative
In the past 4 months there has been XXXX hard credit inquiries conducted using my personal information and XXXX, which I did not request. Additionally, there was a credit card account opened under my name for XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, there is now an outstanding balance remaining due to the fact that I did not open it. All of this has significantly affected my credit score. I have filed a dispute for two of the hard inquiries and for the credit card account on XXXX and XXXX. When I tried logging on to XXXX to file for the XXXX 's hard inquiry I noticed my log-in information had been modified. After trying to get access to my Experian account I was given the email and address that I provided on this report and I believe are being used to access my Experian account. It is evident that someone is using my personal information to request hard credit inquiries and open credit card accounts on my behalf. After submitting my dispute, the results from XXXX and XXXX came back as accurate. I want to reiterate that I did not request these hard credit inquires nor did I open a credit account with XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. Furthermore, I want to emphasize that the XXXX account was opened on XX/XX/XXXX and then closed XXXX days later on XX/XX/XXXX with a remaining balance of {$190.00}, but since then the amount has increased to {$240.00} as of XX/XX/XXXX. My XXXX XXXX has gone down significantly due to this, therefore I am kindly requesting that XXXX investigates this again and removes this account from my credit history. I have also activated a fraud alert with the credit bureaus since my social security seems to be at risk. I would appreciate any further communication and assistance with this situation. It is important to mention that I was a victim of burglary of vehicle in XXXX. Inside where some of my tax documents which contained personal information such as my social security number, full name, date of birth and full address. This incident took place on XX/XX/XXXX and I have attached a police report. The police report is under my wife 's name, XXXX XXXX. On the police report you can also find my previous address and details of what was taken. This is why I strongly believe that my social security number and other information was used to open the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX credit line. I have also attached my Identity Theft Report that I filed on XX/XX/XXXX.
