American Express has extra charges for purchases made overseas. I noticed this when I checked the pending amounts of my purchases and compared them to when they were posted. The posted amounts are always higher, regardless of the currency exchange rate. I have kept screenshots of the pending charges until they are posted ( I can attach them if needed ). Additionally, when I called the Amex hotline and submitted a dispute, I was told that the disputed amount would be on hold until a resolution. Throughout the process, I thought I had no balance due until I received an answer. Surprisingly, American Express charged me {$350.00} in interest, which they couldn't even explain how it was accrued. American Express is not being transparent about their foreign transaction fees, and these charges are undisclosed to consumers.
