Consumer Narrative
XX/XX/XXXX I started experiencing major car problems with the transmission but I continued making my payments. XX/XX/XXXX I reached out to American credit XXXX and told them about the issues. They asked me to get a repair bill from XXXX XXXX I did the estimate on the repairs was almost the same what I owed on my vehicle. American credit acceptance offered a settlement for XXXX or said they can sell the car for me or for me to sell to the dealership. Or I could keep the car and pay the settlement amount I wanted to keep the car and agreed to the settlement amount. I wanted to see if I can get a third opinion about the repairs. I looked up a transmission shop called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The company offered free towing, free diagnostics and free loaner car. At the time I didnt do my research of the company. I allowed them to pick my car up while I was at work. I later the person who I was in contact with asked me for my job address he sent this man to get me to sign a piece of paper stating that if I refuse to get my car repaired the charge would be XXXX I didnt sign that paper. I talked it over with a relative in asking for the total price to fix my car I was quoted XXXX it was agreed for me to pay XXXX on a credit card and XXXX cash I asked to see my car. I was told that my car was sent to a XXXX shop. Myself and a relative went to the address when we gotten there. It was a storage unit at the time my car was the only car in there they had it up in the air as if they were working on it. The person who I been in contact with was only on the phone he had a older XXXX man there he wanted me to sign for the warranty I did and later everything went wrong. After signing the receipt for the warranty later I discovered that basically I signed over my car things changed he wanted me to pay all of the XXXX upfront without my car being repaired. I contacted the police i was given a copy of a case number with the officers name and badge number. I was told by the police it was a civil matter. The police asked me for the guys number he told him the car was going to be ready the next day he kept giving me the round arounds I reached out to American credit Acceptance they pretended to not know where my car was located. I thought by telling them they would help get my car back. After they gotten my car they wanted me to pay over XXXX to get my car back thats how the repossession took place. I believe American credit Acceptance use deceptive practices to get my car. A lot of people was taken advantage of of with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The business was fraudulent and taking money from people without feeling their obligations in repairs. I would like this repossession deleted off all three credit bureaus XXXX, XXXX and XXXX because of deceptive practices. I had gap insurance on my car. American Credit Acceptance I reached out to them about a copy of the check they received from XXXX. They kept giving me the runarounds XXXX will tell me to contact American Credit Acceptance and they will tell me to contact XXXX. The canceled gap insurance check was never applied to the deficiency balance. I also asked American Credit Acceptance for 1099C and I havent got it. They have ignored giving me a copy of the amount of the cancellation of the gap insurance check and the 1099C for my taxes. Please help me I will upload documents
