Consumer Narrative
Point of Contact - Property manager - XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX - National Credit System On XX/XX/year> I purchased a home, in accordance to Texas law, since I purchased a home, it would terminate my lease agreement with no consequence. The Property manager denied to do this so I was forced to pay the remaining months totaling to {$1900.00}. Since I purchased a home, I resided in the home instead of the apartment. Issue 1 - The property manager gave the instruction to throw everything out, items including electronics, clothing, colognes, boots, couch and other items. To make matters worse, he also charged me for disposal of the items per trash bag. I believe the value of these things are probably thousands of dollars. His justification was that the final payment was 2 days late, and he assumed that I had abandoned the location. Even though the eviction process would have started in a later time per the signing agreement. I had also given him communication of the incoming late last payment prior to him making this decision. Issue 2 - Per communication with property manager, he stated that there was a balance left even after I paid the final month. He kept the Deposit of {$990.00} claiming that there was damages and requested an additional payment of {$970.00}. He claimed that if I did not pay it he would take me to court and that I would lose. Issue 3 - I did not want to have the issue affect my credit at the time since I had just purchased a home and was on the way to buy vehicles. I paid the amount requested. 1 year later, I Receive a collection notice from a collection agency of {$770.00}. I contact the property manager and he confirmed this was an error and that he would have it fixed, after many many attempts, he has not fixed this error. Since I am in the Army, I am required to fix every collection dispute that I might have, I tried resolving it with them, and confirmation they made an error in that, but they did not do what they promised.
