My electric company ( XXXX ) has begun using a company called ACI XXXX to process payments. ACI XXXX is charging processing fees on all transactions including debit card transactions, the only exception being their autopay system. Obviously this is designed to force people to sign up for autopay, however, processing fees for debit cards are illegal. I should be able to make my electric bill payment, a service in which I have no choice, without being charged an extra fee. Having called the electric company, they refused to do anything about the fee, and suggested I pay in person at an " authorized retailer '' ( I can no longer even go to the electric company and pay them in person ), and was warned that authorized retailers also charge fees. I would like to pay my electric bill, no matter what way, without incurring extra fees for the privilege of paying them AT ALL.
