I am filing a formal complaint against TransUnion for failing to remove a fraudulent account from my credit file despite my repeated disputes. TransUnion has violated multiple provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), including but not limited to : 15 U.S.C. 1681i Failure to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation after I disputed the account. 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 Furnishing inaccurate information despite being notified of the dispute. 15 U.S.C. 1681i ( 5 ) Failure to delete inaccurate or unverifiable information from my credit file. 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ) Failure to ensure the maximum possible accuracy of the information reported. I have provided all necessary supporting documentation to TransUnion, including a police report and an identity theft affidavit, yet they continue to report this fraudulent account. Their failure to act has caused me financial and emotional distress. I request that the CFPB take immediate action to ensure TransUnion complies with federal law by permanently removing this fraudulent account from my credit report. I also request that TransUnion provide a written confirmation of the deletion. Please let me know if additional information is needed to process this complaint.
