My Chime debit card had been compromised with a charge that I didn't recognize. I disputed this charge & a new card was mailed out to me. I changed my direct deposit to XXXX XXXX while I waited for the new debit card. When I received my new card. I switched my payroll direct deposit back to Chime. On XX/XX/XXXX my check was deposited and all monies advanced to me through Chime was paid back to Chime in full. XXXX total amount had decreased to {$220.00}, and the amount available to me was {$20.00}. But on XX/XX/XXXX the amount available to me was {$1.00}. I first chatted online with them about this and was told that the amount available was lowered to {$1.00} because I missed one direct deposit in the entire year that I have been with Chime. I understood why the amount was lowered, I was inquiring about the amount it was lowered to. I was then transferred to a live agent where I was told that the system just needed to refresh. XX/XX/year>, the amount that was available to me was {$8.00}. I called Chime customer service again and was repeatedly told that the amount was decreased because one of my payroll checks was not direct deposited with Chime. I kept saying that I understood why the amount available was lowered but I didn't understand why the amount was so low. XXXX service will not allow a withdrawal for less than {$20.00}. XX/XX/XXXX, the amount available to me was {$16.00}. I called Chime customer service again to inquire about the amount available to me. I was once again told that one of my payroll checks was not direct deposited with Chime and that's why the amount was lowered. I again explained that I understood the reason for the decrease but why was it decreased to an amount that I can't even withdraw. I expressed that I had bills to pay and that I had no food and needed gas in my car. The agent began to say again that the amount of XXXX was decreased because one of my payroll checks was not direct deposited with Chime. I interrupted the agent and told him that that's all anyone is saying. But no one is saying why the amount available to me is so low that I can't even withdraw it. I was then told to just wait 24 hours and the amount would probably increase to an amount that I could withdraw. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was finally able to withdraw {$23.00}. Not one person representing Chime offered me any help with this problem. They just kept repeating that the amount of XXXX was decreased because one of my payroll checks was not direct deposited with Chime. I stated that this was not fair and it felt as if I was being punished for trying to protect my money by switching my direct deposit to XXXX XXXX while I waited for my new Chime debit card to arrive in the mail. XX/XX/XXXX was the last contact I had with Chime and told them that they could keep the money and I will just bank with someone else.
