Alliant Credit Union repossessed a vehicle auto loan to this date XX/XX/XXXX is still open although company has vehicle the intent is to redeem the vehicle and pay past due amount at the time of repossession amount past due was {$2200.00} to redeem vehicle they are asking for {$3600.00}. Spoke to a representative XX/XX/XXXX was advised could pay {$2900.00} and would submit a claim to assistance with additional fees with total coverage which would have their own process ; it takes this 3rd party company 10 days to process claim and they would cover up to 3 payments ( again a solution that would not be completed within the allowed 21 days ). I also finally received Affidavit of Defense which was received XX/XX/XXXX completed nortazied and returned certified mail. We are allowed 21 days to redeem vehicle once document received how would the calendar start before receipt of document? Based off of calendar of events that would only allow us 13 days to redeem vehicle after being notified via us mail of options. Also the claim submitted to put XX/XX/XXXX payment at the end of loan was submitted under XXXX XXXXXXXX claim which I never advised anyone of medical XXXX so again the handling of account is mishandled. All companies offer assistance to assistance borrowers; was never offered proper assistance I contacted company asking to put payments on the back in of loan to allow time to stabilized again the incorrect information and application were completed and denied which worked against us and made account more delinquent. My account has been mishandled and presented by Alliant credit union for the last 3-4 months during the time of default. Alliant has again misrepresented account by reporting to credit bureau agencies that the account is closed. How do you close an account with out proper time to redeem we are still within the short window was advised we have to XX/XX/XXXX to redeem vehicle at this present date and time the vehicle still should be on hold. Although we only have 2 days left there is still time. When we really should have 21 days from date of receipt XX/XX/XXXX + 21 days= XX/XX/XXXX not XX/XX/XXXX. Alliant has repeatedly used unjust debt collection practices, lack to educate and offer assistance/ resolution for consumers in financial distress and also invalidly reporting " CLOSED '' account and added to balance owed increase to XXXX when we only owe XXXX to major credit bureaus. Attached you will find completed, signed notarized affidavit of defense, " invalid claim opened on my behalf stating XXXX XXXXXXXX '', proof of invalid reporting of closed/ repossessed vehicle account to credit bureaus. This is an ongoing continued complaint my original complaint against company was filed XX/XX/XXXX # : XXXX ; I have also submitted complaints to XXXX FTC, XXXX and will continue to submit complaints and seek litigation until this company handles consumers with integrity and properly. Mishandling accounts, refusing to offer hardship assistance and give consumers false information should not be allowed and it negatively impact consumers quality of life and credit profiles. During this difficult financial time this company has repeatedly put us in lose lose situation.
