Consumer Narrative

I was alerted by XXXX of an account being used. When I looked, I saw a checking line of credit, used for overdraft protection, from Navy Federal Credit union, was being used and had a balance that lowered my credit score. This account has my name, my ex husbands name, and his current wifes name on it. I disputed the account on XXXX, and I called XXXX XXXX several times, and each time they told me they could not find this account with my name on it. The dispute was investigated but upheld by XXXX XXXX, so the account stayed on my credit report. I disputed a second time, but it was upheld again. I called XXXX XXXX again and was assured this account does not exist, yet it remains open on my credit report, and affects my XXXX XXXX every time the owners of the account use it. I am extremely frustrated by this process and lack of care.
