I contacted XXXX twice regarding a late payment dispute with my XXXX 's credit card. This happened around XXXX or XX/XX/year>. My credit score dropped due to XXXX missed payment that I'd simply forgotten to pay. If you look at my credit history, you'll see that I don't have any late payments. I take pride in paying my bills on time. It was just the XXXX payment to XXXX, which was past-due less than 30 days. It was actually late by two weeks. When I disputed the late charge, I was told by XXXX that they'd contacted XXXX and it was up to XXXX to have the late payment removed. They told me that it is up to the company to report a payment under 30 days and they have to follow the company 's reporting. I tried disputing the late payment at another date, but can't remember the date, and got the same response as the first time. My credit score, although has increased over the years, still takes a hit due to that one late payment on my credit history, which stays on the report for seven years. I didn't deserve this. Removing that late payment would increase my credit score, affording me the opportunity to receive better interest rates when financing purchases.
