I am currently going through a financial hardship. My pay was significantly cut at work and I am having a hard time making my payments. I called Capital One on XX/XX/year> to see if there was any sort of options that we could explore because I am making payments every month on time but I am still drowning in debt. The interest, almost 30 %, is eating me alive. I'm not looking for a charge off and I'm not looking to skip payments, I'm only looking to make some headway on this debt. I explained this to the agent on the phone and he said the only option they have is to waive late fees for 3 months. I have never been late on a card payment, so this assistance wouldn't actually do anything for me, which I explained to him. He said that they could not help. I asked to speak to his supervisor and she said " my agent already briefed me on the situation, and we have the same system so there's nothing else I can do for you. '' She said that I currently have the lowest interest rate on my card that they provide ( which is NOT true because my other card through the same company is a lower percentage, and so is my husband 's ). She advised me to call back in a few weeks to see if anything changed. I asked what the difference was between now and a few weeks, and she said " nothing, but you could try again. ''
