On XX/XX/XXXX I got an alert that I was over my credit limit on a Capital One Quicksilver Credit Card. I checked my card immediately and noticed XXXX charges that I did not make. XXXX for XXXX, XXXX for XXXX, and XXXX for XXXX. I promptly call the credit card fraud number on the back of my card. I was asked if I still had the card in my hand and I honestly answered yes. I asked how the charges were made and was told by the rep via XXXX or XXXX XXXX tap. The rep canceled my card and issued me a new one. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter stating my card was not compromised and I needed to pay the charges. I called capital one back and was told the charges were made with the chip. Therefore, Im liable for the charges. I explained I did not make these charges and XXXX is full of articles regarding credit card duplications. One including chip duplication. I asked for the documents showing the investigated and what methods they used. The rep just stated she does not have that. I asked for the person that does. She stated over that I am liable for the charges. I called back later the same day. I spoke with a different rep and he stated the charges were reversed. I asked him to hold while I checked and to my surprise they were. I was told by the rep I would never see the charges again. On XX/XX/XXXX, I checked my card again and the charges were back. I called again and got a fraud department supervisor. He just repeated over and over that capital one believes I made the charges. I explained I didnt and why would I go through this trouble if I have had XXXX problems paying for charges in the past. He just kept repeated my card was not compromised and I made the charges. The investigation was based on me still having the card in hand. Case closed. I would like more answers and an explanation if this is Capital ones best practices for any future instances. I need help getting my money back as I did not make these charges.
