XXXX XXXX, who lived with me for 3 years, stole my identity during his stay. He made unauthorized copies of my Social Security card, drivers license, and birth certificate, then used them to open numerous accounts in my name without my permission. I am doing everything I can to resolve the financial mess he created, but his actions have left me with significant debt affecting my credit report. Ive filed a police report, but there is little else I can do as he is currently untraceable. After extensive research on the best steps to take, I am filing this CFPB complaint to request that TransUnion, in accordance with FCRA 605B ( 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2 ), block the fraudulent information on my credit report resulting from identity theft.
