Consumer Narrative
In XXXX of XXXX I was referred to a lending agent to see if I qualified to by my first home. She said I was approved and gave me the name of her friend who is a real estate agent. I already found the house I wanted to put an offer on, but needed an agent to view it. After seeing it, I made an offer at the price they were asking {$450.00}, that night the agent called me and said they declined ( even thou they had no other offers and I did offer asking price ), so she suggested we offer {$450.00}, I agreed only if seller paid all closing costs. Not being familiar with the whole house purchase process, I assumed between the lender and realtor, they would know what closing costs would total. When I later saw the figure of {$9000.00} I assumed that was the closing costs amount they figured and closing costs meant except for escrow and appraisal fee, I would not have to pay anything at closing. Again, first time home buyer here and I was not walked through any process except the short conversations we had. So we start the process ( both lender and realtor knowing my finances, my budget and my limits $ ) Long story short I wound up paying {$8000.00} for a very high rate with no explanation, I also had to come up with over {$4000.00} at cash to close, witch I was not expecting. My lender also went XXXX for the week leading up to closing, she did not return calls or emails to me me or the realtor. I reached out to the company she worked with, her supervisor had to take over and close loan. Not only was it rushed through, but at the XXXX hour I felt extreme pressure to sign even thou the terms were not as originally what was agreed upon. I had already given notice of where I was renting and was alos going through a medical issue, so postponing and starting over and loosing my escow money was not an option I could afford. My needs as a buyer were not of concern, I felt extremely mislead and I feel it was ethically wrong.
