Capitol One fraudulently made a " Hard Inquiry '' on my credit report on XX/XX/year> without seemingly doing any due diligence about it. Re : Application ID XXXX Capital One XXXX : XXXX While they acknowledged their mistake, they did not provide any information about what happened. As directed in a letter on XX/XX/XXXX, I mailed a notarized request for more information about this to Capitol One. The company never responded to that request and moreover allowed someone to fraudulently open a checking account in my name a few weeks later. In any case, I would like the information I requested about the hard inquiry in XXXX that Capitol One seems unwilling to provide. While the company claims they " have fully addressed my concerns, '' they have not done so. Now the company claims that I did not include proof of identity with my request for information. Needless to say, the letter I sent was XXXX NOTARIZED, which is obviously proof of identity. The customer service produces exactly nothing so here we are again, attempting to get information.
