For about a year, auto payments and full extra payments were sent to our second mortgage. I spoke with XXXX at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage today - XX/XX/year> - about having my overpayments refunded to me. She was only willing to refund 3 of the 9 months of overpayments to my account and stated the rest of the overpayments were too old and had been sent to the mortgage owners to invest because they were over 60 days old. Not only are they withholding my payments from being applied to my loan balance, as well as refusing to refund me the extra money, they are making money off of my overpayments that I at least expected would be applied to my balance. I called and requested a refund about 6 months ago and was told the same information. I also asked if I could pause my auto pays but was told I could only do that for a couple of months and that if I stopped them any longer, I would have to resubmit all the paperwork and a new voided check AGAIN to re-start auto pay. I don't have checks anymore and I don't know anyone who does. They are deliberately making things harder for me to get my money or a credit to my principal balance. I would be happy with one or the other but instead they are holding on to my money and THEY are making money off of it.
