Complaint was closed and needs to be reopened. Discover has not fully responded or paid damages for CFPB complaint XXXX Customer Number : XXXX Re : Student loan ( s ) ending in : XXXX Original CFPB complaint XXXX stands : Discover student loans was one servicer of one of my several federal student loans. The loan originated in XXXX and I had 176 months of perfect payments, and the loan was paid off in XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, I had XXXX XXXX of XXXX, important because I am buying a new home. However, Discover erroneously submitted information from XXXX and XXXX, and XXXX delinquencies are being reported from XXXX my loan was PAID OFF IN XXXX. Discover acknowledges the error. They dont know why the incorrect information from XXXX and XXXX was submitted to XXXX XXXX but they are unwilling to resubmit as they say they can not. This has caused a material damage with interest charges for XXXX loans of {$740.00}, as well as the loss of my home loanit needs to be immediately corrected so I dont lose this house I am purchasing and Discover and XXXX need to pay damages in remuneration. I have had to address this issue with Discover 8 times since XXXX, and while they eventually correct it, they inevitably end up resubmitting incorrect information that is causing material damage. Discover and XXXX, XXXX and XXXX need to be held accountable and this error needs to be fixed IMMEDIATELY Discovers response confounded and combined XXXX totally separate issues and Discover is claiming they paid damages of approximately {$86.00}. Their response in part : Dear XXXX XXXX, We have received your recent correspondence to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. To ensure that your concerns are efficiently addressed, your correspondence has been forwarded to my attention within the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX at Discover. As a result of a recent review of your loans, it was determined that your account was incorrectly reported to the credit reporting agencies, and a correction notice was sent to the reporting agencies on XX/XX/XXXX. Notice of this update was sent to you, along with a remediation check in the amount of {$86.00}. I have enclosed a copy of this check for your records. We have investigated your concern and as a result, on XX/XX/XXXX, an additional request was made to the credit reporting agencies to remove the previous past due reporting from your report. Please allow adequate time for this update to occur. End response IN CONCLUSION, THIS MATTER HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED. As I stated in my response for CFPB complaint XXXX, although XXXX and XXXX have XXXX updated information removing all negative reporting, my credit numbers are still falsely low, and XXXX is not able to change my credit report or score for another 22 days. This has resulted in me losing the home loan I was approved for and subsequently the house I put an offer in for. In this housing market, they sell within A DAY. I have loan origination fees of {$3500.00} and finance costs of {$780.00}. Moreover, my scores are still falsely low, because Discover contacted credit bureaus with incorrect information on accounts CLOSED FOR XXXX YEARS. I have NO BUSINESS with Discover and they should not even have ACCESS to be able to report to credit bureaus. Discover falsely claims they paid damages of {$86.00} for this complaint, but that payment was a part of a class action for the same incorrect reporting incidents in XXXX, and payments were made to all affected parties, not just me. Discover has still not fully resolved or paid damages for their actions in XX/XX/XXXX and CFPB should not have closed the original complaint until Discover FULLY ADDRESSES MY COMPLAINT
