RE : Incorrect Social Security Number Reporting - Account # XXXX I am writing pursuant to the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681 et seq., to dispute the reporting of a XXXX XXXX XXXX account to an incorrect Social Security Number. This error constitutes a violation of multiple sections of the FCRA : 1. 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ) requires that " whenever a consumer reporting agency prepares a consumer report it shall follow reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy of the information concerning the individual about whom the report relates. '' 2. 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( B ) states that furnishers of information may not furnish information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if they know or have reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. 3. 15 U.S.C. 1681i ( a ) ( 1 ) requires a prompt investigation of disputed information in a consumer 's file. correct SSN is attached in application from bank ending 2233 Under 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 2 ), you have a duty to correct and update information you have determined to be incomplete or inaccurate. I request that you : 1. Immediately investigate this error 2. Correct the Social Security Number associated with this account 3. Notify all credit reporting agencies of this error 4. Provide me with written confirmation once the correction has been made Per 15 U.S.C. 1681i ( a ) ( 6 ), I request that you send me the results of your investigation in writing.
