My son had caused damages to an apartment upon move out inspection ; in the amount of {$360.00}. I was a co-signer. The Management agreed to allow me to participate in a payment plan towards settlement. I dropped off the first payment ( {$90.00} ) & written agreement. In the meantime the Management forwarded the entire balance ( {$360.00} ) without giving me credit for the ( 1 ) payment to Collections ( which should have resulted in approximate {$270.00} balance ). I contacted the Collections Debtor & advised them I am disputing the validity of the Debt which is in my Right. The Collections Debtor proceeded to try and COERCE, BULLY, & HARRASS me into Settling to pay more than what I owed ( they said they would settle the account for {$290.00} ) even though I explained and made it clear I was disputing this debt as valid ; therefore, why would they think I would pay {$290.00} to the Collection Debtor if I am telling them I owe {$270.00}. In my opinion this is unfair and unethical business practice and needs to be investigated and action taken against the debt collector
