I set up auto payments with Nelnet starting in XX/XX/XXXX, however, I noticed in XXXX of XXXX my loan repayment date kept getting deferred to a later date by Nelnet so auto payments would never begin. I was told because it was in administrative forbearance was the reason for the changing date. I requested both in XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX to move to standard repayment with no success. Which prevented me from getting a loan with XXXX because it was in admin forbearance. Then the federal government could not move forward with SAVE plan thus Nelnet put me into deferment which I did not request because I'm in school. I spoke with XXXX account representative of Nelnet today on XX/XX/XXXX and opted to pay XXXX of XXXX loans ( the in school loan of {$6000.00} ) because XXXX explained she could not put this into standard repayment because I'm in school. I was told will take XXXX to XXXX business days to resolve the other XXXX loans moving them from deferment to repayment, but they can't and won't send me any acknowledgement confirming a change is forth coming via their portal. This company is intentionally impacting borrowers causing students, people, to accrue capitalized interest so that the company can make more money. When I was with Great Lakes, I was able to make payments the entire time towards my balance without issue during the period where no interest was accruing. This should be illegal. Borrowers irrespective of government policies should be able to have auto payments set up and elect to be in standard repayment plan status.
