2 Capitol One credit cards were opened without my knowledge a venture one and a platinum credit card through Capitol One. These cards were then hooked up to my personal checking account with out my knowledge and being paid on for years without me knowing. I was in a motor vehicle accident XX/XX/XXXX, and received a XXXX XXXX XXXX so I have not handled my finances since. I found out I'd been the victim of massive identity theft in XXXX of XXXX after hiring a private investigator. I found out about these 2 cards I knew nothing about, and reported it to Capitol One. They closed the accounts and removed them from my credit history, but the problem is Capitol One received almost {$27000.00} in payments on these 2 fraudulent cards since XXXX. I've received zero correspondence from Capitol One. So I called in XXXX, and they asked for a signed letter from me saying I didn't make these payments, police reports, unauthorized transactions letter, and statements from my bank. My bank did hours of work, and we provided everything from them mailed from my bank XXXX. In XXXX I made my first complaint, and was followed up and told I needed to now provide a hold harmless letter from my bank, and my banks legal department did this. I heard nothing from Capitol One after they did this. So I made another complaint in XXXX to which they said to resend all the information again including statements, unauthorized transactions letter, and direct deposit form. My bank has spent so many hours helping with this that this time they charged me {$280.00} to reprint the statements and for the member service reps hourly pay, because they've sent so much information, and mailed it and you keep saying it needs to come from them AND IT ALL HAS ALWAYS COME FROM THEM. My bank sent this paperwork last week, and after 19 months I'm begging and pleading to please get my {$26000.00} back. I'm XXXX XXXX, and I have had to spend so much time going to banks, police stations and continuing to be on a hamster wheel with no results. My bank said they've turned in every single thing they possibly can, and have never seen this happen from another institution. That {$27000.00} means nothing to your XXXX dollar organization, but my checking account has been drained and I'm on a fixed income, and now had to pay the bank to do this again because they've done it so many times. I feel so victimized by Capitol One, and feel like I'm being taken advantage of. That money means nothing to you, but you know both cards were fraudulent, and have received so much information to show it came from my checking account their should be no more reasons why after me paying my bank to do this for the 3rd time that I've fulfilled everything you've asked please return my money. I'm XXXX with a XXXX and this unnecessary stress has left me XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I recieve no contact from Capitol One other when I make these complaints. I ment with the Attorney Generals office, and filled a complaint there as well. Not that all your obstacles have been checked I would like my money returned as soon as possible.
