I received a parking ticket from Parking and XXXX XXXX at the end of XXXX for {$50.00} due to " overstaying in a lot ''. The ticket was sent by using camera based ticketing systems which is a violation to South Carolina law. I sent a formally written dispute letter by certified mail on XX/XX/XXXX asking for more information and further proof for fine. Without any response from the company, I then later received a letter from Oxygen XL debt collectors saying that I owed them money. I called to explain the situation and ask them to stop because according to the disputed debts clause of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I have a XXXX day window to dispute the claim, and without he company sending a written response back to the dispute, they are not allowed to pursue debt collection. The Supervisor at Oxygen XL admitted over the phone that they received my dispute and ignored it because they had already sent the fine over for debt collection prior to receiving my dispute. This occurred before my XXXX day window had even closed. The supervisor continuously ignored me and talked over me as I spoke, while trying to pressure immediate payment from me.
