Equifax replied to a complaint that I had filed with the CFPB. The company stated that the original creditor verified that the account belonged to me and the amount of the debt was accurate. What amount of debt? The account was closed, yes, but I paid the account in full. Furthermore, the account was reinstated, and I sent Equifax proof of this. I also uploaded a copy of the letter in the CFPB portal. Equifax DID NOT VERIFY ANYTHING! My account is still open, and I am actively using my card and making payments on my card. XXXX XXXX bank stated that they informed the credit bureaus that my account was reinstated. How did Equifax Verify an account that included debt, though there was a XXXX balance, and how did they verify the account as closed, when in fact, it has been reinstated? I guess I need to seek the advice of an attorney and contact the CFPB ombudsmen! How is it that I have a statement from this month and an acknowledgement of payment for this month that I uploaded to the portal. Did Equifax respond to a CFPB complaint with a false claim that they verified this account through XXXX XXXX XXXX? If not, then how do we explain my account as still open and active and acknowledgement of payment received? How do we explain the copy of the letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX stating that they reinstated my account after receiving a complaint from the Currency of Comptroller 's Office? Something just isn't adding up here now is it, Equifax??!! As a matter in fact, I just received a credit increase, and my new limit is {$700.00}. I have AMPLE proof of everything that I just stated, I hope Equifax has ample proof that they verified their inaccurate, incomplete, and false information on my report.
