I consolidated my debt 5 years ago. I signed up for Credit Karma to keep track of credit score progress. First the started offering guaranteed credit cards as a way to build my credit. When I applied and was denied, it hurt my score. So I waited two more years until the consolidation loan was paid in full. When the app said my score was XXXX, I applied for one of their suggested cards. They said it would help my credit. As soon as I used the card, my score dropped XXXX points! I needed a new car so I had to wait again for the score to go up. I would not have gotten the credit card if I thought it would affect my score that way, because I really needed a new car. I paid off the credit card before it was even due. I waited a month, called the credit card company and they said it might take 90 days before they trusted me and would report then. I waited and when Credit Karma said my score was XXXX again and went to the dealer. The same two credit agencies that Credit Karma reported as XXXX and XXXX, were reporting to the dealer in the low to mid 600s. The deal I created with the dealer using Credit Karma scores was completely not valid and I ended up paying over {$100.00} more on my monthly payment because of this discrepancy. Credit Karma is a good place to track creditors, otherwise it is a predatory company giving misinformation. It has been really disappointing and frustrating over the last few years. This is why I want to file a complaint. Theres no one to talk to to ask why did they report to me? My score was XXXX when the credit company they were supposed to be quoting was much lower.
