I woke up to two text messages in my phone from Chime regarding setting up an account. I use real financial institutions I've never had a chime account. I've never had an interest in having a Time account. I called the number the first time that was in the text message and spoke to someone named XXXX who was foreign. I felt uneasy speaking with him so after an appointment I called back to the number and the text message again which I had verified was the customer service number online. I then spoke to someone named XXXX who was also foreign and I was having difficulty speaking with him. He asked me my name and I gave it to him. And then he went on to ask me things about my social security number and date of birth things that their text message and their website say not to give them over the phone he then asked me for my phone number and said that there was an account associated with my name and phone number when I started asking him questions about the information like when it was created and things like that he told me he couldn't give me any information due to privacy. Yet he asked me important details about my personal information so now time has confirmed there is an account under my name and my phone number. He told me the only way that he could close the account is if I gave him my social security information or my date of birth which I feel like wasn't legal. So I informed him that I was going to start the complaint process. XXXX did not help me. I asked if that was the fraud department he wouldn't give me any information. Your Complaint Form asked me for a card number associated with my complaint. I don't have a card number because I didn't open the account.
