Consumer Narrative

Attached is the email sent to GRT and their reps on XXXX. In summary, they 1. Misrepresented the % that would be charged. They charged 25 % on the original credit amount versus the difference between settlement and original amount. An amount {$420.00} was deducted for a settlement ( s ) that never materialized nor were pursued. 2. False started settlements and lost without proactive pursuit and not relaying status but initiating simply to be able to charge exorbitant fees. These fees depleted the account funds which should have been used to keep the settlement and the fees should have been spread over time versus on huge grab. 3. Charges for services that are not fully explainable or mandatory for some XXXX in the amount of {$290.00} and XXXX XXXX monthly. 4. Lack of assigned reps, but random people on each call who did not know the status and promised supervisory calls that never happened. This company 's integrity is woefully lacking and takes advantage of people in difficult times who simply want to take care of debts. In the meantime your credit score takes a dive. This is due to the process being nothing more than a money grab during a persons attempt to get a reputable organization to help pay back negotiated balances. My intentions were in good faith by unfortunately there have been too many incidents of questionable deductions of our funds versus being used to pay down debts. I am also requesting return of our money for unauthorized or uncompleted services that were started and never completed but lost like the Net Credit Settlements. One in XXXX that was for XXXX XXXX that ledgers show {$60.00} sent, then voided although money was there which supposedly caused the settlement to be lost. Then another attempt for {$940.00} and some change in XXXX of which now no one can figure out what happened although XXXX called me on XXXX XXXX and I agreed to accept. I also wanted to know what would happen with the phantom {$60.00} that was paid to XXXX XXXX and was not given an answer. A supervisor was to call and NEVER did. So in essence, what is being done is fake starts on a settlement without finality so the 25 % fee can be charged such as the {$420.00} for the original amount of {$1600.00} then the follow through is never done in support of the client or cash cow. That shows no integrity. In addition I was told that the 25 % would be charged on the difference between the amount owed and the settlement amount, which would make the fees considerably less..NOT THE original amount. Then on XXXX XXXX XXXX, there is a fee for XXXX which really does not serve me at all of {$290.00} which looks like a fee to join and is not mandatory?! If these people are affiliated with GRT to represent clients, why is there a fee when there is an ONGOING {$55.00} per month deduction to be used for just in case you need representation. If you need representation or advice, I am sure you will be required to pay an exorbitant amount, thus this is unnecessary. Then there is a settlement review fee of {$50.00} on XXXX? No explanation as if that is for net credit, then that is over the 25 % of {$420.00} charged on the {$1600.00}. Next various {$12.00} and {$10.00} fees show on the account, which I can stomach as they are administrative fees, the others are not palatable. We have paid {$1100.00} into this program. Based on what GRT is due based on overcharges and in completed negotiations, I am asking for the return of {$910.00}. A fair amount for the services would be the balance and that is generous in the amount of {$270.00}. I have attached a spreadsheet. Finally, it would be better to have specific account reps. Attached for consistency and organization of the accounts. This would establish relationships and help the clients as they navigate through the difficult periods.
