Consumer Narrative

TRANSUNION is illegal reporting charge-off/collection accounts on my credit report. These said accounts are considered a certificate of indebtedness and therefore deemed income, per IRS Publication 4681. Erroneous reporting violates federal regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and The Privacy Act of 1974. Charge-offs/collections are considered as income per IRS Publication 4681 and should not be included in consumer reports, as explicitly mandated by federal regulations. However, Transunion has inaccurately reported this income, breaching the FCRA and IRS guidelines. This misleading reporting not only misrepresents my financial standing but also infringes upon federal regulations designed to ensure accurate and fair reporting to consumers. Despite my attempts to rectify this issue directly with Transunion by disputing the inaccurate information on my consumer report, the erroneous reporting has not been rectified. This continued misreporting has substantially hindered my ability to access credit and financial opportunities. Furthermore, Transunion 's actions violate several federal statutes. Moreover, it directly contravenes federal laws aimed at protecting consumer privacy and ensuring fair and accurate credit reporting. I respectfully request the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action against Transunion for their egregious violations of federal statutes. Additionally, I seek immediate rectification of the inaccurately reported information on my consumer report to mitigate the ongoing financial and emotional distress caused by above actions. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I eagerly await your prompt response and resolution.
