My former partner convinced my to assist him in purchasing a steel shed, loan was going to be on his property for his use, he said he would make the payments. I was hit with a huge credit score drop as a result of unpaid loan. This affected my credit once under XXXX. I have worked very hard to improve my credit score and it turns out this loan was sold to a collect agency, Steel River, that has not mailed me anything in regards to this loan and I find out today that they have affected my score again. I am in the process of rebuilding my life as a single mother. What can I do? If no payment or agreement for payment has been made, why is this still allowed to haunt me years later?! Please help!
