Complaint Summary : " I am filing this complaint against TransUnion, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX due to ongoing issues with inaccurate, unverified information on my credit report, despite multiple efforts to resolve these matters. Specifically, I am challenging TransUnions failure to act according to federal regulations concerning identity theft and fraudulent debt reporting. As mandated under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), credit reporting agencies are required to follow strict guidelines regarding identity theft claims. According to the FCRA 's five-day rule, once a consumer submits an identity theft report ( such as an FTC affidavit ), the credit reporting agency must remove fraudulent accounts from the consumers report within XXXX business days if the items are disputed. I previously provided TransUnion with an FTC affidavit detailing identity theft issues related to debts and accounts that do not belong to me, which were added to my report without my authorization. Despite my prior efforts to address these issues, TransUnion has disregarded its legal obligations by not honoring my identity theft affidavit and not removing unverified debts. I am requesting that the CFPB investigate these ongoing violations by TransUnion, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, and XXXX. I also request that the CFPB enforce corrective actions compelling these entities to immediately remove any unverifiable or disputed debts in compliance with FCRA and FDCPA standards. Additionally, I seek assurances that my consumer rights under these laws will be fully protected from further violations and extortionate practices. ''
