I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX my vehicle was stolen and I filed a police report. In XXXX of this year, I was advised by XXXX, the company that financed my vehicle, not to make any further payments. They assured me that this would not affect my credit. However, in XXXX of this year when I applied for a loan to start a business, I discovered that I had derogatory late payments on my credit report from XXXX. When I contacted XXXX in late XXXX, they indicated that they did not report me to the credit bureaus. I called back the same day and another service person from XXXX indicated that they did report me to the credit bureaus. They stated would remove the derogatory late payments, as they were the ones that advised me not to make any further payments because my vehicle was stolen. When I check my credit report again in XXXX of this year, derogatory late payments were still on my credit report. When I requested a transcript of the call to verify that they ( XXXX ) would remove the derogatory late payments, they stated that they would send the transcript, but they have not sent the transcript or have not follow-up or communicated with me. This is affecting my ability to get loans or credit.
