Received a notice in the mail ( XX/XX/year> ) from Allied Consumer Assistance regarding CARES Act-Homeowner Assistance Fund mortgage adjustment program. This company is seeking over XXXX XXXX dollars and a signed contract from me to " prepare '' a " government backed package '' to send to my lender. They state my mortgage interest rate will be reduced by several points, from XXXX to XXXX. Use of covid relief funds will be used to do this... I did not sign the Docu-sign documents as it seemed strange they would promise this drop in interest without my mortgage lender being involved. I call my lender and they have no information regarding the program or the company. I then deep searched the company website and it is bogus .... The domain leads to a XXXX XXXX in a shopping center in California and active in 2024. I live in Pennsylvania so why would a company in California be working on Pa mortgages? Also, further searched this company and the various alias they have listed on there mailer, website, and documents.. Seems they have been praying on consumers ' in the past under HUD housing deception.
