In XXXX, I mailed applications for consolidation of parent plus loans with XXXX different servicers to qualify for the double loop. I sent half of the loans to Nelnet and half to Great Lakes. I heard back from Nelnet via email that they consolidated the loans that I asked them to. I never heard back from Great Lakes. A month later I got a letter from Nelnet that they consolidated all the loans. I had no idea that they acquired Great Lakes. No where on the internet does it say that they acquired Great Lakes. I called Nelnet and asked them to unwind my consolidation loans because I want to pay some of them off, and then consolidate with XXXX different loan servicers. They told me that I waited too long and they denied my request to unconsolidate. I explained that in the beginning of XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and I was unable to do much of anything. By the time I re-looked back into the loan process it was a few days into XXXX. Is there anything you can do for me? I've worked in public service for XXXX years. My hope is that they will accept XXXX of public service so far dating back to Covid, and i can then work another XXXX years before retirement. I'm XXXX XXXX XXXX.
