Discover has suspended my credit card which has always been in good standing. When I called I was informed that my personal loan account was 8 days past due as a result they have suspended my account. I advised them that these accounts are not linked. Their loan account is freestanding and you don't need to have any other discover products to obtain a loan thus one isn't contingent on the other. I requested a copy of my terms & conditions where this information was disclosed to me and was informed that it is not listed. That is not how things work. A institution can't make up rules as they go and can't enforce a policy that wasn't told to a consumer. This is extremely shady business practices and needs to be investigated. If this is the position of the institution consumers should be provided this information.
