During refinancing, the company currently holding my mortgage ( PennyMac ) wanted to compete with another offer I received. I was contacted by XXXX XXXX - Loan Officer ( NMLS ID # XXXX ) with PennyMac NMLS ID # XXXX. XXXX told me that they could provide a competitive offer at a lower interest rate, but in order to provide me with an estimate, they needed to run my credit. I told him that they should be able to provide a loan estimate without that. He confirmed that he needed my information for his system to produce an estimate. So I told him, only run my credit if you can provide a competitive offer. He confirmed they could so I authorized the credit check. I then received a complete mortgage application in my email, ready to be signed, disclosures and all. While looking through the documents, I saw the loan estimate and it was no where near competitive. It looked as though it had charges hidden to trick me into signing a worse deal, with no explanation from XXXX. I tried reaching him for two days and couldnt get a response. Eventually I got in touch with him and told him this was not ok and that I wanted these documents rescinded. As of writing this, that still hasnt happened.
