Consumer Narrative

XX/XX/year> Navy Federal Credit Union XXXX : Misrepresentation and Re-Aging of Debt To whom it may concern, I am writing to formally dispute the recent actions taken by Navy Federal Credit Union regarding an asscociated account whose legitimacy is now in question. It has come to my attention that Navy Federal is engaging in improper practices with respect to the re-aging of debts, which I believe is in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and other relevant debt collection laws. I received a payment receipt from Navy Federal in the amount of {$5.00}. This payment, which I did not make, appears to have been falsely posted to my account as an attempt to reage the debt and alter the delinquency status on my credit report. I have not made any payments on this account for over two years, and I find this unauthorized action concerning and misleading and am now questioning if the account is mine. What appears to be taking place is that in an attempt to collect money, Navy federal is re-aging the debt in this manner, Navy Federal is attempting to reset the clock on the statute of limitations for debt collection and inaccurately report the status of an associated account to credit reporting agencies. This is a deceptive practice that not only violates my rights under the FCRA, but also unfairly impacts my creditworthiness. I am requesting that you immediately delete the account and its history. Additionally, I demand that you provide a full explanation of how and why this {$5.00} payment was posted to an account associated with my name, as I have no record of authorizing or making such a payment nor have I even deposited money into my checking account for this to have occurred. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will not hesitate to file a complaint to in addition file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ), and lastly pursue further legal remedies in the state of Washington. I will then seek full financial remedy and deletion of the accounts for falsely reporting of inaccurate information. Please acknowledge receipt of this letter in writing and confirm that the necessary corrective actions have been taken. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX
