I am a victim of romance scam. On XX/XX/2024, I was coerced into sending four transactions, totaling over {$7500.00} to a woman in XXXX. On XX/XX/year> I realized that it was a scam and initiated disputes with Paypal. Paypal, within the same day, closed those disputes and sided with the scammer. Paypal did not perform an investigation and immediately sided with the merchant due to the money being sent by " Friends and Family. '' I initiated chargebacks for the four transactions with my credit card, and Paypal apparently sent additional information SIDING with the scammer. I have initiated various dispute with authorities ( e.g., FBI and US Embassy in XXXX ), and Paypal has not heeded any of this information. It takes approximately a month for funds to clear, so Paypal could have canceled/reversed the four transactions that were fraudulent. They, however, have done nothing and aided the scammer in furtherance of her scam.
