In XXXX of XXXX my federal student loans for the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX were discharged. My loans were dispersed between two servicers. One servicer discharged the loans properly almost immediately and reported it properly on my credit report. However Sloan / Nelnet did not. Eventually I filed a complaint with both the department of education and Sloan to see what was stalling the discharge. They acknowledged that loans should have been discharged, but while my balance on Sloan 's website now does show XXXX, they are still not being properly reported as discharged. I filed a dispute through XXXX to rectify the situation and the dispute ended in them actually raising the total balance owed through the loans. I'm filing this complaint because I need these loans to be properly removed from my credit report as they are supposed to be. These are the main thing keeping me and my family from obtaining a mortgage. I've attached both a copy of the discharge letter and screen shot of sloan showing the XXXX balance owed. I can provide any other information as need be
