I received a notification on XX/XX/year> that someone had applied for a credit card in my name with XXXX XXXX. I immediately called XXXX and reported it as fraud. I was provided with case number XXXX and told the hard inquiry would be removed from my credit as the request was fraudulent. It is now XXXX and the hard inquiry is still on my report. I called XXXX XXXX back on XX/XX/year> and was told that they did everything required on their end to have the fraudulent credit inquiry removed and again provided with case # XXXX. I was told to follow up with Transunion. I called Transunion on the same day and they opened an escalated case to reach back out to XXXX to determine what happened. I was told I would hear within XXXX business days a determination. I was provided with case # XXXX by XXXX. I called Transunion back on XX/XX/year> as I have not heard anything from Transunion. I was told by the rep I needed to file a CFPB report in order to have the inquiry removed. I was not happy with this as I reported the fraud and XXXX did everything necessary to have the inquiry removed from my credit.
